In 2006, Nancy Shepard joined the Workers’ Compensation practice
of Katz Friedman as an attorney. Prior to that time, Nancy clerked
for the Honorable George P. Kazen in the United States District
Court, Southern District of Texas, Laredo Division. Nancy has also
done legal research for Northwestern University School of Law on
such varied topics as immigration status and personal injury awards.
During and after graduation from law school, Nancy was a law clerk
for Katz Friedman in the area of Workers’ Compensation and assisted
in writing appellate briefs to the Illinois Workers’ Compensation
Commission, Circuit Court and Appellate Court of Illinois.
Nancy earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science with
honors from Texas A&M University in College Station in 2000. She
earned her Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University School of
Law in Chicago in 2004 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2004
and the Texas Bar in 2005. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association
and the Illinois State Bar Association.
